Description

New.  Squareneck Beard Resophonic with Beard “Legend” spun cone and #14 Spider bridge.
Finnish Birch plywood construction (like original Model 27’s).
Sunburst semi-gloss finish.

Fishman Nashville pickup installed by Beard.

Solid Maple neck. Deco Phonic decal logo at top of peghead. Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays.
Traditional “fan” pattern nickel coverplate, nickel tailpiece, traditional screen holes, and Golden Age restoration tuners.

Instead of using “sound-well” construction, this new Deco Phonic is built with re-inforcement wood “sistered”
under the top. This leaves the entire area inside of the guitar free for soundwaves to move around in. Birch plywood is recognized as a top plywood, with almost no air spaces anywhere. It has been used since the earliest 1920’s Dobros for its clean surface which acts as a fast reflective surface and just the right texture.

It is a delight to be able to offer these well-built affordable models from Paul Beard. Exceedingly well-made, with the great materials and fit and finish you are accustomed to having from Beard Resophonic. And there is no sacrificing tonal presence – this Model 27 Deco Phonic has very good sound.

Paul Beard is very good about making instruments with good value. Take this guitar, for example. Money is saved by using less inlays and less bindings. You are paying a little over $1400 for the guitar along, then $250 for factory installed Fishman p/u, and you are paying about $200 for the hard case (total = $1900).

This instrument has a good “bite” and punch. It fills a room with sound.
And… they come with great original hard case.
