This new Collings 00-2HG completes a nice set of Rosewood Collings guitars with German tops that are in stock at this moment in our store. There is this 00-2HG as well as a new D-2HG. Both are beautiful with their respective creamy German Spruce tops and wooden herringbone purflings and grained ivoroid celluloid bindings. Yes, they are gorgeous to look at, but just as scrumptious to listen to that great gritty, growly tone that is the very reason we buy several German Spruce Collings every year.
Collings logo inlaid in peghead overlay. Nickel Waverly open-back tuners (made in Montana). Bone nut and intonated saddle. Gabon Ebony fingerboard with abalone diamond inlays. Tortoise celluloid pickguard. Ivoroid outer bindings around top and back, with back showing multiple strips of purflings, while top inner edge shows off wooden herringbone purflings. Soundhole is tasteful ensemble of same grained ivoroid in concentric circles with purfling accent strips. Ivoroid heelcap and end wedge.
This guitar is just a couple of days old and already sounds great. Comes with a great US made TKL American Vintage Series hard case.
