This Prucha top tension custom RB-18 is one of the most visually outstanding banjos Prucha has ever produced. Traditional Gibson-style top tension peghead with pre-War style large J Prucha logo at top of Ebony overlay. Art deco inlay in center of peghead. Solid pearl truss rod cover near bottom. Tortoise celluloid multiple bindings around peghead with abalone purfling seen at side of peghead. Bone nut. Radiused Gabon Ebony fingerboard with large pearl block RB-18 style inlays. Railroad spikes installed at A, Bb, B, C positions. Fingerboard bound with multiple tortoise binding and abalone purfling seen on sides. Gabon Ebony heelcap with tortoise binding and abalone purfling. Neck is highly figured aged Maple with beautiful gold amber sunburst. Massif Maple resonator with great figure seen on sides and back. Multiple tortoise bindings along top and back edge with abalone purfling seen at sides. Massif resonator is two blocks of solid book-matched Maple, turned on a lathe, then hand-scraped and tuned. The inside is not flat like Gibson traditionally did. Instead, it is concave slightly. Special matte gold vintage plating with perfectly executed RB-18 elaborate engraving pattern everywhere.
