This 2019 Taylor 812e has a Sitka Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a Mahogany neck.
The slotted Mahogany peghead has Ebony veneer with “Taylor” inlayed at the top in pearl, and the tuners are Nickle with Ebony buttons. The Ebony fretboard has the Taylor “800 series” inlays in pearl, and there are white position dots that can be seen from the bass side of the neck. The neck is bound with Indian Rosewood and the truss rod cover is near the nut. The Sitka spruce top has a gloss finish with a very nice Rosewood pickguard installed, and the Ebony saddle has black bridge pins with Abalone dots. Curly Maple is used for the binding on the top of the body and there is a three layer black and white alternating purfling just past the binding on the face. The single ring of Abalone for the soundhole rosette is followed by two alternating black and white rings and then a single ring of Indian Rosewood finishes the rosette. Two tone knobs and one volume knob are placed on the top of the left side of the Indian Rosewood sides (looking at the instrument from the face side), and there is an oval shaped plastic port on the bottom of the instrument for the placement of a 9 volt battery and the end pin/ input jack. The two piece Indian Rosewood back is separated by a single strip of Maple down the center, and the back is bound with the same curly Maple as the face side.
This is one of the best sounding Taylors we have heard in the shop and it has all of the looks you could hope for too. Comes with the OHC.
