This is a medium weight one-owner Les Paul Special. Mahogany body and neck. Mahogany slab body with two soap bar P-90’s. Stop tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge. Volume and tone knobs for each pickup, and a three-way selector switch. Nice C-shape neck. Original Gibson tuners with metal tulip buttons. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard has pearl dot inlays and dark side dots in the cream binding. Original nut. Black-white truss rod cover. Ebony peghead veneer has Gibson logo inlaid in pearl at top with Les Paul Model decal in the center. Original pickguard is black-white-black-white. Frets are the famous Gibson “Fretless Wonder” frets. For those not familiar with this expression, it means that Gibson put bass frets on the guitar, and then milled them very close to the fingerboard, so it feels almost like a fretless guitar, allowing for cleaner slides with less of the bump of the fret as you move up and down the fingerboard. This makes soloing a breeze.
Finish is in good shape. There are no repairs or touchups.
“Made in USA” stamped in back of peghead, but no volute.
Comes with the original molded plastic Gibson case, with one latch malfunctioning.
