This is a nice vintage banjo-mandolin. It has a 7-1/4″ diameter hide head. The wood rim is a metal clad “spunover” pot. It has 16 hooks and nuts.
The neck is straight. Original small frets with some wear. The Ebony bridge is in good shape (might not be original). Clamshell tailpiece.
Tuners are quasi-original. One side is complete, but one side had the 4-on-a-plate cut to remove the bottom G-string. Then they grafted in another plate piece for the lower G.
The work was done quite well.
This would be a good addition to any collection.
This instrument does not have a case.
