This 1964 0-16 NY has had a fair amount of work done, as well as a good amount of player wear, but it is nicely restored and sounds and plays great. Spruce top with Mahogany back, sides, and rounded “V” profile neck.
The slotted peghead has a Rosewood peghead overlay with the “Martin & Co. Est. 1833” at the top. Nickel three-on-a-plate tuners with white plastic buttons. Rosewood fingerboard has no inlays, but it does have side dot position markers.
The Spruce top has a fair amount of dings, scratches, and finish checking under the refinish. It also has three crack repairs below the bridge, as well as two on the bass side of the lower bout. Non-original Ebony pyramid bridge has white plastic pins with Ebony dots, and a cut-through bone saddle. Tortoise plastic pickguard and simple soundhole rosette. Black/White/Black/White purfling inside the tortoise binding on the top edge. The Mahogany back and sides are similar to the top when considering wear. Finish checking can be found on most of the back and sides, as well as a fair amount of dings and scratches. Black end pin installed.
This 1964 Martin 0-16 NY is a very good “player’s” guitar with a fair amount of wear. It has clearly been loved and played which has enhanced this guitar’s tone over time. Comes with a newer hard case.
