Black with Gold Hardware
This 2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic is in nice shape and only has some light signs of player wear. “C” profile neck has a few small dings – there is one significant dent in the lacquer behind the 4th fret that your thumb feels as you move along the neck and there is another less prominent bump a little further along the neck. There is a small scrape into the finish on the top, at the 3-way switch. The frets & set-up are great!
The guitar is bound with antiqued cream bindings around the f.b. and around the top edge. The same material is used for the jack plate, the selector plate and the pickguard.
This antique color looks like it has a hint of mauve color. The 3 pickup surrounds, however, are much more “bone-white”. The “look” is good, with these different hues of bindings lit up by the gold-plated hardware, set against the Ebony guitar lacquer. These guitars always make a good appearance.
This peghead features a pearl “Gibson” logo at the top, and a “Les Paul Classic” decal in the center. Black/white truss rod access cover just above the nut. Original nut. Gold Gibson Deluxe tuners with yellowed tulip buttons. The Rosewood fingerboard has pearloid trapezoid inlays, and black side dot position markers on the cream fingerboard binding.
Except for the middle “third” p/u, this Les Paul Classic black top has a “normal” Les Paul Standard look. And the usual controls: Cream “Rhythm/Treble” selector switch, two Volume and two Tone knobs.
The black finish is in fine shape, with no finish checking problems. The weight is “med-hvy” at just over 9.5lbs.
Comes with its original hard case.
