This is a very nice vintage Kay 3/4 standup bass. It is a 1947 Kay Model C-1. It has newish strings and the sound is full. Nice newer bridge and excellent cable tail gut and endpin.
Plywood construction. Nice new full dimension dyed fingerboard that appears to be Rosewood.
The body has been refinished, but it is a pretty nice job! The finish is nice and light and the color is shaded tones of “root beer” brown.
No Neck Cracks.
The tuners work well, the set-up is very good and the tone is very open and authentic.
