This 1952 Gibson J-45 is a Cuban Mahogany guitar with a very nice reddish brown sunburst top. The blackened peghead veneer has some finish checking, scaling, and flaking of the finish which exposes some wood beneath. The Gibson decal logo is in tact at the top and the original truss rod cover is intact. New Kluson copy tuners with cream buttons have been installed. The Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard has large pearl dot inlays and a brand new professional fret job. There is a brand new copy bridge constructed by master handmade bridge maker John Joyner. There is a boxed bone saddle and white pins with black dots. The bridge is Brazilian Rosewood and has two pearl dots at the ends of the bridge pin row. Looks to be the original cream colored button in the endpin. original tortoise plastic pickguard. The binding around the top edge of the guitar is antiqued white binding with a black accent line seen on the face. The back binding is just one single ply of the antiqued white binding. There is also antiqued alternating white and black lines for the soundhole rosette. The neck is all original no cracks or repairs, but it has some wear from being played.

There is a 4 or 5 inch crack repaired just off the center seam of the guitar back, near butt of guitar. The sides show normal wear from just using the instrument. The top has an inside pickguard crack right below the E string between the soundhole and the bridge. The back of the neck has wear through the finish in some areas.

Owned and used by a local folksinger, career teacher and artist, since 1960.

This guitar sound great and feels great to play.
Comes with a good hard shell case.
