This vintage 1974 OME Single-X resonator banjo is all Mahogany construction. Attractive grain in the neck and resonator. Simple construction with Rosewood peghead overlay having no decals or inlays in the peghead. Ivory nut. Full size frets with nominal wear. Large abalone dot inlays in flat Rosewood fingerboard. Pearl side dot position markers. Schubb side-mount capo mounted for 5th string capo’ing, showing holes from earlier position that it was moved from. The peghead overlay, fingerboard, and Rosewood heelcap all show a lighter wood sandwich line between it and the Mahogany. Resonator shows tortoise binding on top edge and bottom edge.
This is a simple pot design with 24 shoes and 2-piece plate beneath the shoes. It has a brass bead under the head that acts as a simple tone ring. *This construction allows for you to remove the resonator, take off the flange plate, and have an open-back banjo.
Multi-laminate rim. All hardware is original, including Schaller tuners with matching pearloid buttons and all hardware on the pot. The nickel hardware has a natural patina of oxidation.
Comes with Hard Case.
