This 1985 Martin OM-28 is considered a custom guitar because Martin was not producing OM’s at this time.

The Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay has C.F. Martin & CO logo decal at top. This guitar has Nickle Schaller tuners marked “Martin”. There is a Gabon Ebony fingerboard with cut diamond inlays, a bone intonated saddle, and a Gabon Ebony bridge. There is a small plastic tortoise pickguard, which is typical for an OM to have a smaller pickguard. The body is bound with cream antiqued binding on the top and back edge with wood herring bone purfling around the top edge, and a black accent line on the back. The heelcap has the same cream binding. The neck is a “C” shape, and the back of the peghead has a diamond volute.

This ’85 Martin OM custom has Indian Rosewood back and sides with a Sitka Spruce top, white bridge pins with black dots, and the butt of the guitar also has a cream endwedge with black accent lines. There is a wooden marquetry “Zipper” as the backstrip for the back.

The Guitar is setup well and sounds great, comes with the original Martin plastic molded case.
