This 1997 Collings D2H Rosewood dreadnaut has a fully developed tone, with big open voice and excellent playability.
Indian Rosewood back and sides, with high grade Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany neck. Brazilian Rosewood peghead veneer has Collings pearl logo inlaid at top. Nickel Waverly pre-war style open-back tuners. Gabon Ebony fingerboard has abalone cut diamond inlays. Frets are in great condition with hardly any wear evident. Body is bound top and back with ivoroid outer bindings. Inside edge of top shows wooden herringbone purfling. Back of body shows multiple binding lines inside ivoroid strip. Traditional wooden marquetry zipper back strip in center of Rosewood back.Ivoroid multiple end wedge. Ivoroid heelcap. Gabon Ebony bridge with boxed intonated bone saddle. Original tortoise pickguard.
Some lacquer eroded from fingerboard edge and some light marring of lacquer in back of neck. One long line of finish checking near the bridge and one short one, but otherwise this is in great shape.
Professional setup and great sound. Original hard case.
