This 1997 Froggy Bottom OM (Orchestra Model), is a wonderful sounding and easy playing guitar. It has a nicely figured Sitka Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a comfortable Mahogany neck. This instrument is in really nice playing condition with a recent bridge reset and slight neck crack repair done very nicely.
* The crack on the neck was very slight and difficult to spot, even before repairing it! The repair was recently professionally repaired so well that it is hard to find where the crack was.
Please see the close up photograph of the repair area to see how invisible it is. This repair in guaranteed and in no way detracts from the performance of the instrument now or later.
The Indian Rosewood peghead overlay has a frog inlayed at the top in abalone, and there are Nickel Schaller tuners with Nickel buttons. Bone nut. The Ebony fingerboard has abalone dot inlays and white side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. The Mahogany neck is a nicely shaped “C” profile. Maple heelcap.
The Sitka Spruce is in great shape with some nice figure. It has an interesting colorful herringbone ring for the soundhole rosette, with a second circle made up of maple and black alternating lines. Small tortoise plastic pickguard and Ebony bridge with Ebony pins with abalone dots. Bone saddle. It has a seven-line black and white alternating purfling before the Maple binding on the top edge of the Sitka Spruce top. The Indian Rosewood back and sides are in really great shape, and it has a colorful stringer down the center of the two-piece Rosewood back. Three-line black and white alternating purfling before the Maple binding on the back edge if the Indian Rosewood back. Maple end wedge and an Ebony endpin with an abalone dot.
This Froggy Bottom is a phenomenal Orchestra model. The tone and the playability match the beauty of this handmade instrument. Comes with a hard case.
