This 2006 Brentrup Stealth Mandolin is a fantastic example of Johann D. Brentrup’s craftmanship. This Stealth mandolin has an Black Italian Spruce top, and highly figured Maple sunburst back, sides, and neck. The tone and playability on this hand crafted mandolin is outstanding.

The Ebony stylized peghead veneer has the “J.Brentrup” signature inlayed in Mother of Pearl in the center, and the headstock is bound in tortoise with a white accent line inside the edge. There are Silver Waverly open-back tuners with Ebony buttons, and there is an ebony truss-cover before the bone nut. The Ebony radiused fingerboard is bound in the same tortoise binding, and there are white side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard binding. Past the 20th fret, the frets are scalloped away. The highly figured Maple neck has a nice modified “U” profile with an Ebony stringer down the center. Back of peghead is blackened.

The handmade Ebony pickguard is bound in tortoise binding with a white accent line, and there is a handmade Ebony armrest. Ebony two-piece Loar-style adjustable bridge and a Silver plated “James” tailpiece with “Stealth” engraved in the center. Stylized F-holes and 3-point construction with a cresting wave on the bass side cutaway. Ebony strap button installed on the bass side cutaway of the Maple sides. The Italian Spruce top is bound in multiple tortoise binding, and the highly figured Maple back is bound in the same tortoise binding.

This is a high class mandolin; this 2006 Brentrup Stealth mandolin has high quality wood, high quality hardware, and high quality tone and playability. The Italian Spruce top is in great shape with only a few scratches.

The sound of this instrument is remarkable. Comes with a Calton Hard case.
