This 1969/70 Fender Artist banjo is a good sounding banjo in nice playing shape. Wonderful 2-pc straight grain Black Walnut neck and lightly figured Walnut resonator.

The Rosewood peghead overlay has decorative MOP inlays around the top edges of the peghead, and a Fender script inlay at the top. Truss rod cover is situated above the bone nut. All 5 tuners are Nickel Schaller tuners with Ivoroid buttons. Bound Rosewood fingerboard with attractive MOP inlays and black side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard binding. Side mounted 5th string sliding capo. Straight grain Walnut neck with great feeling neck profile. The neck is 2-pc Walnut with Maple center

The 11″ rim is a multi-laminant wood rim, fitted for the Flat Head Tone Ring and Flange.
These Fender “Artist” banjos are quite respected as a bargain banjo that is made well enough to be used professionally.

Nicely figured Walnut resonator has some scratches and dings, but it is in good shape overall. Top and back edge of the resonator is bound. Nickel armrest and tailpiece. Compensated bridge. 24 hooks and nuts. Comes with the original hard case.
