Brazilian Rosewood / Red Spruce
This is a beautiful John Walker Wise River that was custom built for one of the most prominent Guitarists in our region. It has all of the great aspects that you would hope for in a custom built slope shoulder dreadnought. Considering this Walker was played on stage for countless shows, it is still in “unscathed” condition. It has very few dings and scratches around the body, and one small chipped out lacquer area below the pickguard from planting his ring finger there. It is fully opened up and sounds just as good as a lot of the early J-45’s we’ve had in the shop. This Custom John Walker Wise River has top choice woods including: Adirondack Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and a rounded “V” profile Mahogany neck.
The Ebony peghead overlay features “Walker” inlaid in pearl at the top. Peghead is bound. Nickel Waverly tuners with oval buttons. The Ebony fingerboard has no inlays, with black side dot position markers on the ivoroid binding. The rounded “V” profile Mahogany neck only has a couple small dings. Nickel strap button installed.
The Adirondack Red Spruce top has some very nice grain. It has various dings and scratches as well as a small chipped out area below the pickguard. The Ebony Bridge has bone bridge pins and a cut-through intonated bone saddle. The soundhole was routed larger, the beginning of the rosette. Tortoise pickguard, Ivoroid binding on the top edge. The Brazilian Rosewood back and sides are some of the most beautiful Brazilian we have seen in here for some time. The back and sides have similar wear to the top, with scratches and dings from player wear. Ivoroid binding on the back edge, and an ivoroid end wedge with an Ebony end pin installed.
This Custom John Walker Wise River is a prime example of John’s attention to detail in regards to tone and appearance. Comes with the original hard case.
