Brand new “Demo” Guitar
This new Gisclair HD-28 TSI has beautiful bearclaw-figured Old Growth Sitka Spruce top that has been heat treated (torrefied), Indian Rosewood back and sides and a Mahogany neck. Scalloped Advanced bracing. This is one of the better handmade D-28 model guitars that have been in our shop. The tone is rich and the playability is very nice. The overall sound is thunderous! The Mahogany neck is a full feeling, slightly deeper profile than you might typically find, but it is shaped nicely and is very comfortable all the way up the neck.
Ebony peghead overlay with “Gisclair” inlaid at the top in abalone. Nickle Waverly tuners with Ebony buttons. Bone nut. Ebony fingerboard with small abalone dot inlays and white side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. Ebony strap button installed in the correct location on the heel. The Spruce top has some really lovely figure, especially on both sides of the upper bout. Simple herringbone soundhole rosette and interesting brown and yellow pickguard. Ebony bridge with Ebony bridge pins. Bone saddle. Herringbone purfling before the Maple binding on the top edge. The two-piece Rosewood back is separated by a Maple stringer down the center. Back edge is bound in Maple. Maple End wedge with Ebony end pin installed.
This Gisclair HD-28 has a lot of voice. In fact… in many settings this guitar would be the most powerful guitar in the room!
