This new Huckabee “Woody Guthrie” Guitar is modeled after the honest woody sounding guitars from the 30’s. It has an Engelmann Spruce top and Mahogany back, sides, and neck. The Headstock overlay does not have any marking and there are Nickel Waverly tuners with Ebony buttons. Truss rod access before the bone nut. The Ebony fingerboard does not have any inlays but there are black side dot position markers on the bass side of the Maple fingerboard binding. The Mahogany neck is a nice “C” profile and there is a diamond volute. Ebony heelcap.
Nice figured Spruce top with a simple 5-line soundhole rosette, with the center strip being Maple. Ebony bridge with Ebony pins and a bone saddle. There is a three-line black/white/black alternating purfling before the flamed Maple binding on the top and back edge of the body. The Mahogany back and sides are really. There is a Maple stringer down the center of the Mahogany back, and is a Maple end wedge.
This guitar has a great sound. It definitely harks back to the old Kalamazoo’s and Recording King models, etc., from the 1930’s
Comes with a good Hard Case.
