Description

New  /  #189
1 3/4″ width at nut  /  2 1/4″ bridge pin spacing.

This New John Walker Wise River Sacha Rosewood guitar features a flame figured Adirondack Red Spruce top with Sacha Rosewood back and sides, and mahogany neck.

The top of the ebony peghead overlay features the JWalker pearl logo inlay at top and a flourish in the middle between the tuners inlaid in abalone shell. There is an ebony truss rod cover above the bone nut. The back of the peghead features nickel Waverly tuners with ebony buttons. The back is slightly darkened with a “bee sting” as the darkened portion comes to a point where it meets the neck. There is no heel cap.

The Gabon Ebony fingerboard features very beautiful and elaborate 1910’s Orpheum banjo inspired inlays in abalone shell. The inlays are exceptionally nice. Gold EVO fret wire – a very nice premium feature. The guitar top is blonde and is very lightly antiqued.

The pickguard is shaped after a 1930’s Gibson (think L-00, J-35, or Advanced Jumbo), however it is tortoiseshell celluloid rather than fire-stripe. The pickguard pattern matches the tortoiseshell celluloid binding on the fingerboard, as well as top and back of the guitar. The fingerboard binding is accented by a white line that can be seen from the top of the guitar. The top binding has four lines of purfling. There is an elaborate soundhole rosette with 9 bands in the ring.

The top of the guitar is a very nice piece of Adirondack Spruce with flame figure in the wood.  The back is beautifully straight-grained Sacha Rosewood. This tonewood tends to be lighter in weight and doesn’t impart an overly heavy bottom end like some rosewood guitars.

The bridge is a simple rectangular style made from Gabon Ebony. It has the cut-through intonated bone saddle and ebony pins with abalone dots. The endpin is also ebony with abalone dot. The endpin area has a beautifully mitered tortoiseshell end wedge.

Comes with John Walker’s lifetime warranty, and a TKL Cedar Creek Hard Case. Please call with any questions!
