New. Full-bodied tenor. 16.9″ scale. 1 13/32″ width at nut (just a wee bit wider than 1 3/8″. This is the first ukelele made by internationally reknowned guitar builder Michael Hornick of Shanti Guitars. n recent years, Mr. Hornick moved to our area and we are pleased to showcase his instruments in our store.
All koa construction from old seasoned wood that Mr. Hornick acquired from David Crosby many years ago. Top and back show big, broad, bookmatched figure, with wooden marketry strip down center seam of back and matching strip where sides join at endpin. Koa bridge has bone saddle and ivory string brace piece. Bone nut. Ebony flat fingerboard with abalone dot inlays and dove inlay at 12th fret. Sides have two soundports, one at each upper bout. Koa peghead veneer. Nickel Schaller tuners with ebony buttons. Ebony with inlayed dot endpin and strap button professionally installed by Mr. Hornick, the builder.
This is a beautiful instrument with pleasing tone. Comes with excellent, hardshell Ameritage case.
