Even though this is a “CE” (cutaway, electric pickup) model, there is no control panel cut into the side of guitar. Instead, this guitar has an under bridge pickup installed with an on-board pre-amp on side of headblock inside guitar, and volume control wheel inside soundhole lip. We think it is quite an advanced idea to NOT cut an extra hole in the side of your guitar to mount a plastic control panel into. The pickup works great and sounds great.
Cocobolo is a great tropical tonewood, which produces a rich, colorful tone, with high end sparkle. This guitar is responsive and articulate. This is a Taylor “legacy model” that is no longer being produced, but the original list price was $4,498 in 2002! This guitar comes to us from a local gigging musician who takes care of his instruments. This instrument is in nearly immaculate condition. It is set up to play with no problems.
