What a nice guitar. This 2013 Gibson Emmylou Harris L-200 guitar is really a “baby” J-200 with a 24.75″ short scale. But the width at nut is 1-3/4″ Emmylou Harris has long been known for playing a full-sized vintage Gibson J-200, so this would seem a “junior” version of that. But – the sound on this L-200 is not “junior” to anything. It has a good voice with an even balance across the tonal spectrum. And I always say that anytime you find a Maple guitar that has a big bass sound (especially as a smaller body), that you have a special guitar.
Blonde finish. Fully bound with antiqued cream bindings around peghead, fingerboard, and top and back. Single ply bindings on peghead and fingerboard. Top and back edges also have 5-ply purflings inside that top edge binding and 3 -ply purflings seen on back edges. Neck heel cap also shows 3-ply purflings. Cream end wedge.
The top is a high grade Sitka Spruce top with lots of Medullary rays and chatoyance.
The Tortoise pickguard is stamped with Chrysanthemums and inlaid with pearl dots, like it is on a Gibson J-200. There has been enough playing wear for some of the paint to be worn off the central area of the pickguard. There is only slight signs of playing wear.
Comes with original hard case (OHC).
