New Don Dryer A-5 Mandolin

$3,250.00

Another great mandolin from Don Dryer. A lot of builders don’t make this sort of advanced mature tone until mandolin #50, or so. Don Dryer did it with #2, and still is doing it with this one, #9.

Don Dryer came to us with his first mandolin and we were so impressed that we immediately began talking to him about supplying us with mandolins. Each has been great and this one is a beauty. Single luthiery construction using high-grade materials and methods. Snakehead peghead with handcut abalone and pearl torch inlay in ebony peghead veneer. Back of peghead also has ebony overlay. Radiused ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Ebony two-piece Loar-style bridge. Ebony endpin. Silver James tailpiece. Nickel tuners with ebony buttons. Mandolin fully bound in tortoise multiple bindings. Top is Adirondack Red Spruce with beautiful blond color. Highly figured maple back, sides, and neck with honey amber tones. Bone nut.

We have sold several Don Dryer mandolins. They have all been very good. Yet we can’t help but say this mandolin is clearly the most beautiful and I want to say its also the best sounding… but his previous mandolins had this great sound, as well.

Comes with original hardshell case.
