This 1930 Kona Style 4 Koa Hawaiian roundneck guitar is an exceptional piece of history. Prior to the Great Depression of the 1930’s there was a great clamor for all things Hawaiian. Pineapples, Coconuts, Slack-Key Guitars, Ukuleles, Island art and Island music – all were very popular. Kona commissioned Weissenborn to build a series of Koa Hawaiian guitars with Round Necks, instead of square necks. These guitars were offered through the Kona guitar company and were quite popular.

These guitars are fairly hard to find, but they do show up periodically. But I’ll bet you will have a very hard time finding one as exceptional as ours! This one gets top marks for all the aspects: Best rich Koa color and figure; best original condition; best original hard case; No repairs; Great playability; Great sound.

If you are looking for the best example of the real thing, you have found it! Beautiful “roped” wooden bindings all around the guitar!

Comes with lots of Mojo and the original hard case.

Please enjoy this soundclip of Bill Mize playing this beautiful Weissenborn.
