This 1943 Epiphone Broadway is a fantastic archtop. It has all of the tone you could hope for, and the playability is great. It doesn’t have any major wear.

The peghead overlay features “Epiphone” inlaid in pearl at the top with an ornate pearl inlay below it. Appears to be original gold tuners. Bone nut. The Rosewood fingerboard has large rectangle pearl inlays and black side dot position markers on the cream fingerboard binding. The rounded “V’ profile Mahogany neck has two strips of rosewood with a Maple string between down the center. It is a comfortably shaped neck. Cream heelcap.

The Spruce top is in great shape with only some usual dings and scratch marks, but it does not appear to have any cracks or crack repairs. “Frequensator Pat.Pending” trapeze tailpiece. Two-piece Rosewood bridge with gold adjusting screws. Large floating tortoise pickguard. Black/white/black purfling inside the cream binding on the top edge. The Maple back and sides are in similar condition to the top, with some expected dings and scratches. Appears to be about a 6 or 7 inch crack repair on the bass side of the lower bout on the back.

This 1943 Epiphone Broadway holds its own with the rest of the high end Gibson archtops we have right now. It could be argued this is the best “bang for the buck” archtop in the shop. It is very clean with great tone and playability. Comes with a newer hard case.
