This 1946 Martin D-18 is a rare find. It is a real good flatpicking dreadnought guitar that is also in great original condition. And… it has No Cracks.
It also has that certain look about it that tells you it’s a seasoned professional. There is player wear through the finish on the back of neck, on the bass side of the body, around the soundhole and around the pickguard on the top.
Everything is original: Tuners, Nut, Fingerboard, Pickguard, Bridge, Finish. I believe the Nut is an original Ivory nut that has been re-worked and shimmed. The saddle is a newer intonated fossil ivory saddle. The bridge appears to be the original that has been slightly re-sculpted.
Big tone. Very well balanced across the bass to treble. The top is nice and flattish.
