This 1950 Gibson SJ is in great original condition. You can tell it was enjoyed by previous owner. It shows careful handling and fret maintenance, etc., but no careless bangs or dings.
Spruce top – possibly Adirondack. Mahogany back, sides and neck. Sunburst finish. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Blackened peghead overlay has Gibson decal at top. Original truss rod cover and screws. Original Kluson Deluxe tuners with cream buttons. Newer bone nut. Neck has a very nice, “C” shaped profile. Fingerboard has antiqued white bindings and pearloid Parallelogram inlays. Body has 7-ply antiqued cream/black binding on the top. Back has 5-ply binding. Ebony backstrip. Bridge has white pins with Ebony end pin.
No cracks, no distortion or “bellying” of the top. Jack hole near the end pin has been professionally repaired.
