Pegheds geared tuners •  all Mahogany

This is a well-constructed vintage uke made from all solid Cuban Mahogany (Swietina Mahogany) by the Gibson company in America in the 1950’s. The instrument has been kept in wonderful playing condition. No problems or major repairs, just the lovely patina of naturally aged finish and wonderfully warm wood tones. No cracks. The neck has never been off and the instrument has never been taken apart.

Mahogany top, back, sides, and neck. Rosewood fingerboard. Peghead has beautifully faded “Gibson” logo at top. No endpin or strap button. No binding. 3-ply wooden decorative soundhole rosette. Original bone nut. Original Rosewood bridge with what appears to be original bone saddle.

This instrument has a major upgrade to the tuning machines. Geared Pegheds tuners are wonderfully easy to turn and operate, and provide an ease and accuracy of tuning that you will very much appreciate versus the traditional friction pegs. Pegheds tuners also have a brake mechanism where you can push in to increase resistance and push out to decrease, giving you amazing control over the tuning machines.

All these features make this a wonderful instrument to play for the sheer joy, or a nice tenor ukulele to add to any vintage uke collection.

Comes with a very good hard case.
