Description

VG (+) condition. Serial number 191127.
Width at nut: just shy of 1 11/16″ but well past 1 5/8″.

Tobacco sunburst. Ropey Mahogany back and sides. This may be Cuban Mahogany. Nice Spruce top. No cracks on top. Newer handmade reverse belly Ebony bridge. Frets are in great shape with just minor denting in first position. Frets are jumbo frets, milled about halfway. Normal and expected crackle finish (checking) on top, back, sides, and peghead. Blackened peghead face with Gibson decal logo. Original truss rod cover and screws. Nut appears to be original. Newer bone saddle. Ebony bridge pins. Beautifully quarter-sawn Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with chocolate and brick red colors. Pearloid dot inlays. Nickel strap button professionally installed in neck heel. Original long tortoise pickguard. Deluxe closed back tuners with cream buttons. Cream binding on top and back edge of guitar.

Overall this guitar is in great shape for its age. Most of the wear on this guitar is from nicks around peghead and here and there on the top. The back, however, shows two long cracks repaired to the left and right sides. These are old repairs and are stable.

This guitar sounds very open, and is making a great organic sound. Comfortable to play and great voice. Comes with hard case.

Here is an audio soundclip from our friend Isaac Callender demonstrating this fine guitar in our store.
