1-9/16″ width at nut / Expert Refinish
This 1968 Gibson LG-1 has a Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back, sides, and neck. The blackened peghead overlay has the Gibson logo at the top and Nickel tuners with white plastic buttons. Truss-rod access before the bone nut. The Rosewood fingerboard has pearloid dot inlays and white side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. The Mahogany neck is a fairly thick “C” profile, which paired with the skinnier 1-9/16″ width at nut makes this comfortable guitar to fingerpick or flatpick.
The Sitka Spruce top has a very simple single black ring soundhole rosette, and there is a screw on tortoise plastic pickguard. The Rosewood bridge has an adjustable saddle and Ebony bridge pins. The top edge is bound, while the Mahogany back is not bound. White end pin.
This 1968 Gibson LG-1 is a nice sounding guitar in good condition. The Sitka Spruce top has some dings and scratches, but there are currently no open cracks. Looks to be one 4-inch repaired crack on the treble side of the lower bout. The Mahogany back and sides are similar to the top, having a good amount of stray dings and scratches but no structural issues. The Mahogany neck has the occasional ding, but they cannot be felt when playing.
