This 1979 Ibanez F model 524 mandolin is in good shape with good playability and good sound. Made in Japan. Beautiful sunburst with the lacquer in great shape. This is a 48 year old instrument with no problems except for moderate fret wear in first position. The Neck is a modified V profile, made with 3-pc Maple.

This mandolin is fully bound, with multiple peghead binding, single fingerboard binding, body binding (top and back), is all multiple bound.

The peghead overlay is tortoise plastic with Ibanez logo pearl inlay at top, elaborate Flowerpot inlay in the center and black/white truss rod cover just above the nut. The fingerboard has small frets. Baroque pearl inlays. Double-cut fingerboard extension with last 6 frets removed.
2-pc Ebony adjustable bridge. 2-pc tailpiece with Ibanez engraved into the cover.

This mandolin would be a great candidate to install a pickup inside. It would be an easy thing for us to install a K&K pickup for you for $200. This would turn this mandolin into a professional stage-ready mandolin.

Comes with original hard case.
