Traditionally built A-model by one of the world’s master mandolin makers, Robert L. Givens. Maple back, sides and neck. Engelmann Spruce top. Ebony peghead veneer has RLG decal logo in upper center. Radiused Ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Fingerboard end is scalloped for ease of playing in the “sweet spot”. Fingerboard is scalloped immediately after the 19th fret. Loar-style 2-pc. Ebony adjustable bridge. Original 2-pc. tailpiece. Nickel hardware including Nickel Schaller tuners with pearlescent buttons. Strap button installed at neck heel area in body. Back of neck has “speed neck” treatment for less friction while playing. Ivoroid bindings on top and back of body.
This mandolin is in great shape, there has been some professional fret work done. The fingerboard is in great shape with no bowing. Only slight signs of playing wear. The top and back only have a few marks, peghead is very clean, back of peghead is also very clean. There are just slight signs of prior playing.
