This 1992 Martin D-45 has hardly been played! Almost no sign of fret wear, no bangs, no repairs. And… it has a great tone and feel.
Select Indian Rosewood back and sides with beautiful Spruce. The specs say the Spruce is Sitka… but there is so much beautiful chatoyance in this Spruce that it makes me wonder if it could be Engelmann Spruce. Mahogany neck. Ebony fingerboard and bridge. Neck is fully bound with antique’d white bindings, with peghead showing multiple accent lines. Body is fully bound with same antique’d white binding that has generous abalone purflings seen along all quarters of the body… and more. Abalone purflings are seen on top and back, along sides of neck heel, around end wedge, on upper and lower of sides, and around soundhole rosette. Large abalone hexagonal fingerboard inlays. Whew! That is a lot of abalone! Bone nut and micarta saddle. Cream pins with abalone dot.
Back strip is beautifully colored wood herringbone.
Rosewood peghead overlay has large “C F Martin” abalone inlay. Gold Schaller tuners, marked “Martin”.
This is a great sounding guitar that is 29 years old and has hardly been played.
Comes with original hard case.
