No Wear, No Repairs

This 1995 Flatiron A-5 Artist is in incredibly original condition. It shows almost zero signs of wear (there are touchmarks on the first position frets). No repairs ever needed. This mandolin simply was not taken out of the case very much! In fact, the case is in great “as new” condition, as well.
Wonderful finish color that really shows off the woods.

Traditionally constructed from highly figured hard domestic Maple and high grade Sitka Spruce. The Spruce top has so much chatoyance in it – shimmery beautiful silky grain.
The Snakehead peghead has Gabon Ebony overlay with The Flatiron pearl logo inlaid at the top and an elaborate floral pattern in the center. Truss rod access is just above the bone nut. Original pearl nut replaced with newer bane nut (original is in the case). Gold Schaller tuners with pearloid buttons. Gold truss rod cover screws.
The peghead is bound with grained ivoroid that has a blk/wh accent line, seen along the outside under the binding edge.
The Gabon Ebony fingerboard Also has similar ivoroid bindings with similar purfling accent line on the outside. The F.B. has a single-cut extension and pearl dot inlays. Ebony heel cap.

The body is as cute as a bug. Beautifully figured Maple with excellent amber sunburst highlighting the wonderful woodgrain and figure. Original Ebony 2-pc Loar Style adjustable bridge. Original Gold 2-pc tailpiece with The Flatiron engraved into the cover.
Again, the same ivoroid bindings are repeated for the edges of the top and back. Ivoroid bindings with black/white accent purfling, seen along the outside.
The top is 2-pc bookmatched Spruce and the back is 2-pc bookmatched Maple.

This mandolin is in exceptionally fine condition, with barely any touchmarks even on the original frets.
Comes with great set-up and original great condition hard case.
