1-23/32″ width at nut

This 1995 Gibson J-200 VS is a nice sounding guitar in good playing shape. It is a good reissue of Gibson’s J-200 from 1958. Excellent Sitka Spruce top with highly figured Maple back, sides, and neck.

The bound peghead features a pearl Gibson logo inlay at the top, the usual pearl crown inlay in the center, bound peghead and old-style wide white border truss rod cover. Gold closed-back Kluson DeLuxe copy tuners with traditional Tulip pearloid buttons. The Rosewood fingerboard is also bound and has large pearl crown inlays in fingerboard and black side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard binding. Shallow “C” profile Maple neck has a ding in a spot where your thumb can’t feel it, and an area of wear through the finish down towards the heel. *This finish wear on back of neck is from a foam padded guitar stand. It is through the finish and reveals the clear sealer coat. This area can be ignored or it can be touched-up. It doesn’t affect any playability and it isnt seen when playing to an audience.

The Sunburst Sitka Spruce top is in good shape with a few small dings and scratches. Some areas of crackle finish can be found around the back and top of the guitar. This finish checking is of the “polite” variety and doesn’t leap out at you when you look at it. Moustache bridge with 4 pearl block inlays and black bridge pins with pearl dots. The bridge is faithful to early J-200’s, having the open bridge design. Tortoise plastic pickguard with pearl dots and Chrysanthemum floral patterns and shows some playing wear. Cream 5-ply binding on the top edge. The sound hole rosette has concentric circles of wh/blk/wh.
The Maple back has some crackle finish and some light scratches and dings. Some light button scratches on back. The sides are nice with only normal signs of light playing. Cream end wedge with metal end pin installed.

This 1995 Gibson J-200 VS comes with hard case. It also comes with barely any signs of fret wear. We’ve just set this beauty up with fresh action adjustment and new saddle and strings.
If you are looking for a great sounding J-200 that’s in fine structural condition and stable after 30 years, this one is a good choice for you. The balance is good, the neck feels great, the action is great and the sound is huge yet balanced – you can play rhythm or lead on this one. Its hard to beat a good J-200 with 30 years of maturing.
* And… this one is priced quite a bit LESS than many other used ones listed right now.
