This 2000 Martin Special Koa guitar is in wonderful shape and has great sound. This is a fairly rare guitar from Martin. Excellent Mahogany neck with Ebony fingerboard and Rosewood heelcap. Rosewood peghead overlay with gold C.F. Martin & Co. decal at top. Original nut in great shape. Fingerboard has diamonds, snowflake, cateye abalone inlays. Frets show the barest sign of playing. No V dents. Body is all Koa and shows beautiful flame pattern throughout. The top is especially nice. The soundhole rosette is complex with multiple ivoroid-black-ivoroid stacking with the center circle lined in abalone. Old style tortoise pickguard. Bridge appears to be ebony and has snowflake inlays at each end and intonated Micarta saddle. Bridge pins and endpin are matching black with white dots. The guitar body is bound (top and bottom) with beautiful tortoiseshell binding that perfectly mates with the Koa for great visual effect. This wood was very artistically chosen and the binding brings out its beauty. The endwedge is also tortoise. Back has a colorful wooden marquetry strip.
This guitar has very nice, full sound. Nothing is missing in the sound spectrum.
Comes with hard case.
