This 2005 Bourgeois Custom Country Boy is quite a nice guitar. Highly figured, ribbon-flamed Mahogany back and sides, with beautifully straight-grained Mahogany neck. Rosewood peghead overlay and heelcap. Flamed Maple end-wedge. Rosewood peghead veneer has Bourgeois pearl inlay at top. Gabon Ebony fingerboard with small, pearl dot inlays. Waverly pre-war style nickel open-back tuners with 3 lobed buttons. Back of headstock shows diamond volute. Pre-war neck profile with a very rounded “V” shape.
Strap button professionally installed in neck heel, with Ivoroid button to match Ivoroid bridge pins. K&K pickup professionally installed. Wonderful Adirondack Spruce top with lots of character and shimmer. Tortoise pickguard. Soundhole rosette of small wood strips stacked in interesting manner. Gabon Ebony bridge, with bone, intonated saddle. Body bindings are tortoise outer, with extra purfling of white/black.
This guitar is in great playing condition with very fine, wide-open sound. This is one of those guitars that makes you want to keep playing it, once you’ve picked it up.
