Description
Exc- condition / SN: #29
1-5/16″ width at nut / 25.5″ scale
12″ Pot / 26 Brackets
This 2005 open-back banjo from Doc’s Banjos is in pretty nice condition with only small signs of prior ownership. In the last 6-8 years we’ve sold several of these banjos. They are made quite well as sculpted pieces of art as well as being a good banjo that sounds great.
The neck and block pot are constructed mostly of figured Oregon Black Walnut. The neck has a Mountain Mahogany stringer along the back of the two pieces of Walnut. Mahogany was also used for the peghead overlay, fingerboard and the heelcap. Nickel Five Star tuners with matching ivoroid buttons. The fingerboard is scalloped slightly between each fret. The fingerboard also has an S-shaped scallop after the 13th and 14th frets.
The rim is capped at the bottom with Mahogany and the top edge of rim is a Mahogany “woody” tone ring. Single wooden dowel stick. The hardware is a mixture of Nickel plated parts alongside antique’d brass parts. The head is artistically enhanced to look older. It is not only “un-bleached”, it is dyed to great effect, visually.
Comes with original Doc’s handmade banjo bridge, old-time narrow armrest and no-knot tailpiece.
Comes with newer Alpine Gig Bag.
