Very nice condition for a 14-yr old banjo. This 2005 Stelling Sunflower shows Geoff Stelling’s sense of style, his high grade materials and perfection of building methods. Sunburst Maple banjo. The beautifully intense Maple figure jumps out at you not only because it is a great grade of wood, but also due to Stelling’s use of color and finish. The one-piece resonator back is startlingly great, and the neck and resonator side walls are also highly figured. The color is an amber sunburst.
Ebony peghead veneer with lots of Sunflower inlays and Stelling logo inlaid at top. Ebony flat fingerboard has flower inlays and “Sunflower” block at 15th fret.
Ivoroid multiple bindings around top and back edges of resonator and along side of fingerboard. Beautiful finish and great Maple figure that leaps out at you. Nickel tuners appear to be Schaller brand with matching Ivoroid buttons. Some mild scratches near binding at lower edge of resonator back.
This banjo looks great, plays great and sounds great! We just got it in stock and ran it into our workshop for fresh fret milling, disassembly and cleaning, and new head. Comes set up with Stelling bridge.
Comes with original hard case.
