This 2006 Fender Mustang ’65 reissue is a really fun guitar. There are several differences in the Mustang guitars Fender has made since they were first designed in 1964. Scale lengths varied from 25.5″ to 24″ down to 22.5″ and pickup switches changed as well.

This example is a re-issue of a 1965 version with 24″ scale length and one 3-way slider switch for each of the two single coil pickups. These switches allow you to play either, or both, pickups and also allow to choose to play the pickups in phase or out of phase with each other.

This example has Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard with large pearl dot inlays. Tuners are “F” backed, 6-in-a-line with cream bindings. Bone nut. Cream side dot markers. Three ply pearloid pickguard. Two single coil pickups, with above-mentioned 3-way switch for each pickup.
Single Volume and single tone knob. Elaborate tailpiece/bridge has 6 intonateable  saddles in the bridge and features a wrap-around barrel tailpiece with tremolo.
* At the time of this writing, I am not sure if we have the original whammy bar arm.

Coles with original hard case.
