This 2007 Martin D-28 Marquis is a fantastic discontinued model from Martin. Martin “retires” certain models from time to time, and sometimes it is hard so say why. The playability and tone on this Martin dreadnought is really great. Adirondack Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a rounded “V” profile Mahogany neck.
The Rosewood peghead overlay has the “Martin & Co. EST. 1833” decal at the top. Diamond volute. Nickel open-back tuners with lobed buttons. The rounded “V” profile neck paired with the 1-3/4″ nut width makes this an extremely comfortable neck to play. The Ebony fingerboard has small diamond abalone inlays and ivoroid side dot position markers. Ivoroid heelcap. The sunburst Adirondack Spruce top is in great shape with a few small spread out dings and light button scratches to the finish. Ebony 1930 Style Belly bridge – Glue in Long Saddle. Herringbone purfling before the ivoroid binding on the top edge. The Indian Rosewood back and sides have similar mild wear as the top.
This 2007 Martin D-28 Marquis is one of the better flatpicking dreadnoughts we have in the shop right now. It competes with any high-end guitar we have. Comes with a TKL hard case.
