Description
This instrument is made by Rio de Janeiro luthier Rogério Santos.
Solid spruce top. The back and sides are probably Jacarandá, more properly known as “Jacaranda mimosafolia”. This is a prized Brazilian wood used for fine furniture and musical instruments. The fretboard is slightly radiused ebony, and features a zero fret which is standard to most bandolims.
There is a repaired crack in the spruce top that was caused by droppage.
This instrument is resonant and has a nice, focused sound with a good tone. These instruments are used in Brazilian choro music groups but are also well-suited for Irish or folk music.
Comes in a hardshell case.
