This 2011 Bart Reiter 12″ Round Peak open-back banjo with brass hoop tone ring is in great shape. It shows only slight wear on the frets and some normal clouding (oxidation), on the tension hoop and other Nickel plated parts, like hooks and nuts and tuner housings.
The neck is Mahogany with nice peghead shape. Ebony peghead veneer, fingerboard and heel cap. Peghead has a single pearl Star inlay in center. Nickel 5-star tuners all around, with pearloid buttons. Bone nut. Fingerboard is scalloped away after the 17th fret. Fingerboard inlays are mostly medium pearl dots except for the Pearl Star inlaid at 5th fret. Mahogany neck is two piece construction with Ebony stringer running all along the back of neck.
R.R. spike installed at 7th fret for capo’ing the 5th string. Nice Ebony heel cap. The neck and the wooden armrest are both Mahogany.
The Maple rim has a 1/2″ thick wall and is Walnut stain. It is blackened at the bottom of the rim. It has 26 hooks & nuts mounted thru “shoes” that are mounted on the outside of the rim. Good one-pc tailpiece that is like a fancier version of the famous “No Knot” tailpiece.
The tone ring is a simple brass hoop. It has a new Renaissance head installed on it.
This banjo is ready to go.
Comes with Original Hard Case.
