Exc condition / SN: 487
1-11/16″ width at nut / Rare Redwood top
This 2012 Roy Noble Concert Guitar has a very rare highly figured Redwood top, with Mahogany back, sides, and neck. The top is a replacement since the old one had significant enough damage where it needed to be removed and replaced. The old top was a close match to the current top.
The peghead overlay features a single diagonal strip of Maple that extends from the top of the peghead to the nut. Wooden truss rod cover above the bone nut with “Noble” written down the center. Shallow rounded “D” profile Mahogany neck is in good shape with only one ding by the 2nd fret. The neck is shaped in a way that makes this guitar easy and fun to play. The Rosewood fingerboard has side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard, but it does not have any inlays. This guitar has never had a strap button, but one could easily be installed.
The Rare Highly figured Redwood top is a gorgeous piece of wood. The top features handmade red, black, and white purfling to allude to the old purfling that was originally handmade by Roy Noble. Its quite a fantastic job of matching what the guitar had before, as far as playability, tone and looks. The soundhold features this same handmade purfling. The Ebony bridge features white bridge pins and a bone saddle. Flame Maple binding on the top edge of the Redwood top. The Mahogany back and sides have some stray dings and scratches, but they have no cracks or previous crack repairs. Flame Maple binding on the back edge of the Redwood top. Rosewood end wedge.
This 2012 Roy Noble Concert guitar is not only a beautiful art piece to look at and admire, but it also sounds fantastic and the playability is wonderful. This guitar is good for any style of playing. It only has minor wear. Comes with a nice hard case.
