This 2013 Collings UT1 Tenor Uke is impressive for several reasons. The materials and workmanship are tops, the condition of this 10-yr-old instrument is tops, and the playability and sound are off the charts.
All Mahogany construction except for the Rosewood peghead overlay, fingerboard and bridge. Collings ivoroid logo inlaid in headstock. Tuners are wonderful “Pegheds” geared tuners that appear like Ebony violin pegs, but are actually cleverly designed 2-shaft planetary tuners. These tuners are known widely as an important advancement in violin pegs and are used in Ukes, Open back banjos, Violins, etc.
Bone nut. Fingerboard has ivoroid small dot inlays and ivoroid tiny dots as side position markers. The soundhole has a simple rosette. The bridge saddle is bone.
No strap button has ever been installed. There is no wear on this uke.
All set-up and ready to play… and, with it’s great original hard case.
