This 2017 OME Phoenix Custom Open-Back Banjo is a beautiful and tone-rich banjo with high end features and ornate appointments. It features a highly figured Maple Rim and Neck with a beautiful “root beer” color gradation with glossy lacquer. The neck has a complex cut peghead that is fully bound. There is a Phoenix Abalone inlay with bird on top and bottom, as well as floral inlay fronds and the OME logo in pearl in the center. H&K nickel tuners with iridescent amber buttons.
The flat Gabon Ebony fingerboard is adorned with interesting abalone inlays of Phoenix birds and other patterns, and both the peghead and fingerboard are bound in Ivoroid binding. The fingerboard is scalloped past the 17th fret. Bone nut. The neck is finished in hard lacquer and includes an Ebony heel cap.
24 bracket, 11″ pot. The rim is finished out at the bottom edge with grained Ivoroid binding on both the inside and outside of the bottom of the pot with multiple grained Ivoroid. 2 coordinator rod system. All original hardware. Lightweight bar tone ring. Includes an arm rest.
This banjo is in Excellent- condition. There are some very small dings in the back of the neck between the 5th string tuner and nut.
Original hard-shell case included.
