This 2020 Martin Special D-18 VTS is in good playing shape with a some general player wear around. Adirondack Spruce top with Mahogany back, sides, and neck.
The Rosewood peghead overlay features the “Martin & Co. EST. 1833” at the top. Nickel Grover tuners. A new bone nut and saddle have recently been installed. Rosewood fingerboard features pearl dot inlays, and white side dot position markers. “C” profile Mahogany neck is in good shape with a few small spread out dings. These dings are insignificant and are not easily felt while playing. Nickel strap button installed in the correct position on the heel. Black heelcap. Dovetail neck joint.
The book matched Adirondack Spruce top has some lovely grain. Several small dings and scratches from player wear, but it does not have any major wear that stands out. Rosewood bridge features black bridge pins and a bone saddle. Black pickguard, and 4 lines of black and white alternating purfling before the black binding on the top edge. Mahogany back and sides are in good shape with the exception of the crack repair on the butt. This area has polite chipping in the finish from the repair. The back has a few other light scratches that are only visible when the light reflects off of the finish. Black end wedge with K&K access that also acting as the end pin.
This 2020 Martin Special D-18 VTS has nice opened up tone and good playability. It has general player wear and crack repair, but it is in good structural condition. Comes with the original hard case.
