This 2009 OME Phoenix Custom long neck is in wonderful original new condition. No discoloration of any metal parts. No wear or scratches on any finish or wood areas. Even the head looks new. One of OME’s highest models of open backs, the Phoenix shows practicality mated with elegance. Beautiful ivoroid bindings throughout: peghead, fingerboard, inside and outside of rim, and resonator.
Ebony peghead veneer has elaborate Phoenix and floral inlays. Nickel planetary main tuners with Schaller 5th, all with matching ivoroid buttons. Ebony flat fingerboard with elaborate inlays of Phoenix bird figures interspersed with floral patterns. Nickel hardware.
Neck and rim are both Maple, with the neck having very strong flame figure. 11″ pot with 20-hole flathead tone ring. Shoe construction with 24 hooks and nuts. OME armrest and tailpiece heavily engraved. Pop-on resonator is a perfect add-on, showing the same black cherry shading and nice figured Maple. Easy to put on, easy to take off.
This banjo sounds really good and there is no wear anywhere. Utilize the full fingerboard by tuning to open E. Capo up three frets and play in G like any normal 5-string.
If ordered new today, this banjo would cost a lot more and there would be a 14 month + wait.
Comes with good original hard case. Call for price.
