This Epiphone les Paul Special is labeled as “used” because it was a B stock guitar. An instrument could be B-stock for a few reasons. It could have been sold and returned, it could have gotten a blemish or crack in the factory and repaired, or it could just be imperfect in some way. This one was most likely labeled as used because of two finish checks in the lacquer. There is one just off treble side of pickups that goes from p/u surround to the butt of the guitar, and one on the back that is about half the length as the other finish crack. One scratch also in lacquer in back.
Maybe the coolest part of this is the back of the peghead is stamped, “USED”, instead of a serial number. Years from now its a great conversation starter…
The darkened peghead features an “Epiphone” decal at the top, and a “Special model” decal in the center. Truss rod cover above the nut. Rounded “D” profile neck is in great shape with no wear to mention. Rosewood fingerboard features pearloid dot inlays and side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. Very light fret wear.
Sunburst top in nice shape. The back and sides are in good shape with some light signs of wear.
It has no major wear, no repairs, nothing out of whack, etc.
This Epiphone Les Paul is a good affordable alternative to the Gibson Les Paul Special.
This one comes with a good hard case.
